New Underpass Locations in Islamabad: Check Alternate Routes Here
In Islamabad, the federal government has approved the construction of two new underpasses to overcome traffic congestion. This initiative’s objective is to increase the smooth flow of vehicles at the busiest intersections in the capital.
During a meeting led by the Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, officials presented the initial designs for the underpasses.

Minister Naqvi said it’s really important to finish these projects fast, stressing the necessity of reducing traffic bottlenecks.
Location of the Islamabad New Underpasses
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that one underpass will be constructed at Serena Chowk, and the other will be on the Srinagar highway. These locations were selected because they have a lot of traffic from key routes such as Constitution Avenue, Club Road (Murree Road), Srinagar Highway, and Attaturk Avenue, at busy times these roads get really crowded with vehicles.
To eliminate disruption during the construction phase, alternate routes for commuters will soon announced by city managers. These different routes are meant to keep traffic moving smoothly and make things less bothersome for people.
The initial design for the underpasses has been completed. The Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi wants the construction to be completed as fast as possible. This project is one of several planned for the year 2023-24, with a budget of Rs. 20 billion.
