Free bus service for female students and teachers in Islamabad from 15 June
- 20 buses will go on Islamabad road to facilitate female students.

ISLAMABAD: In effort to solve the problem of transportation for female students and teachers of the Islamabad Capital Territory Schools, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training is deciding launch a free transport service.

According to the information, Federal educational institutions have about 20 buses that will be ready and they will be putting those buses on road with the help of the district administration.
Free transport services to female students and teachers especially will offer the pink bus servicing in both rural and urban parts of Islamabad. This plan was made due to insufficient transportation exclusively for girls and women.
In the urban and rural areas of Islamabad federal capital, the female students and teachers of public and private educational institutions will travel for free in those buses to promote education with the help of district administration.
These buses exclusively for girls and women will be painted pink, it added. The secretary of education stated that the ministry is taking this step in view of the increasing dropout rate of girls from schools because they don’t have good transportation.
He more says that according to the internal check, it discovered that 30% of the 385 buses from federal educational institutions couldn’t be used and were parked because they weren’t working.
The official mentioned that these buses were not being used due to shortage of budget and drivers and they weren’t fixed on time.
Once the necessary developments are finished, these buses will give free transportation for female students and teachers, aiming to make it easier for them to get around.
He also mentioned that by June 15, those buses will be prepared and also started to provide services for female students and teachers.
