Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif recently introduced the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” programme, designed to offer affordable housing and loans to the residents of the province.
Deployment:
The “CM Punjab Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Housing Scheme” aims to build more than 3,000 homes in every district and ensure an equitable distribution of resources. The scheme will concentrate on five major cities:
- Multan
- Faisalabad
- Sialkot
- Sargodha
- Rawalpindi
In Lahore, the first phase will involve constructing 5,000 homes near Raiwind Road.

Accessibility:
The scheme is very affordable. Each apartment is priced at Rs. 1.5 million, but with the government’s 60% subsidy, people only need to pay 40% of the total cost. This amount can be paid down, with the rest paid in easy monthly installments of Rs. 26,000 over five years. This plan allows families with modest incomes to own a home.
Residence:
The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) made a website for a housing project called “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar.” People can now apply for housing, see the status of their application, and manage it all online.

The “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” program provides significant benefits to the public, such as affordable housing options, opportunities for homeownership, and secure, permanent residences. It fosters socio-economic development, enhances living conditions, and helps reduce homelessness. Saif Anwar, from the DG Housing and Town Planning Agency Punjab, visited the One Window Operation Center to inform citizens about the Chhat Apna Ghar project.
DG Saif Anwar stated that the Chief Minister of Punjab initiated the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar project to assist poor and homeless individuals who, despite owning land, are unable to build their own homes.

Saif Anwar announced that, in the initial phase, 70,000 families will receive interest-free loans to help them build their homes.
How can one apply for the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Scheme?
Applicants can apply for a home or loan through the portal at acag.punjab.gov.pk. For more information, citizens can call 0800-09100. Interested candidates can submit their applications at the following link: https://acag.punjab.gov.pk/Layouts/Registration.aspx
1. Fill out the Citizen Registration Form by providing the following details:
- Name
- CNIC number
- Father or husband CNIC number
- Gender category
- Email address
- Mobile number, including the network provider if the number has been transferred
- District, Division, City
- Set and verify your user password to finalize the registration process.
3.After registering, you will receive a certificate form that you need to complete to verify your eligibility in each category.
2.Once you have completed the second step, you can advance to the application form. Eligible candidates who own plots and are seeking a loan for house construction can apply. Start by entering your basic details into the form, then upload the necessary documents and include any additional comments.
