Javed Afridi the owner of Peshawar Zalmi, fulfilled his promise and gifted a white MG car to Babar Azam national team captain in appreciation of his exceptional performance in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9.
According to reports, Javed Afridi had promised Babar Azam that if he secured a century he would be rewarded with a car during the recently concluded PSL season.

Afridi uploaded a picture of Babar Azam happily seated inside his new car on X (formerly Twitter), where Babar took it for a test drive. The car, valued at approximately PKR 72.0 – 81.0 lacs,
Indicates Afridi’s acknowledgment of Babar’s achievements for his team.
The captain of Peshawar Zalmi, Babar Azam, arose as the highest run-scorer in PSL 9, gathered an impressive total of 569 runs in 11 matches at an average of 56.90, and achieved one century and five half-centuries. Even despite his exceptional performance, Zalmi came up just short of clinching the title and was also ended from the tournament in the Eliminator, losing to eventual champions Islamabad United.
The chairman of Peshawar Zalmi, Javed Afridi, had announced that Babar Azam to gift an MG car upon his century.
Today, Babar Azam went to the MG office in Lahore, where Afridi officially handed over the MG HS Essence car to him.
The MG HS Essence car is white, and a photo of Babar Azam and Javed Afridi is circulating on social media as the white-ball captain went to the MG warehouse to collect his reward.
Before, Babar Azam, who leads Pakistan’s white-ball team, surpassed Aaron Finch’s record for most runs as captain in T20I cricket during his 37-run innings against New Zealand in the third T20 match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Aaron Finch scored 2236 runs in 76 innings while playing for Australia. Babar Azam has now gone beyond that, scoring 2,246 runs in only 67 innings. This means he has beaten Finch’s record by 10 runs.
